Holiday Family "Adoption" Program

Helping a single mother provide Christmas gifts for her children so she does not need to choose between food or gifts, providing gifts for children who would otherwise go without because their mother just got laid off, and bringing Christmas cheer to children who just exited a shelter and need transitional support. Wesley’s Holiday Adoption program provides children in need with the holiday cheer their parents/caregivers desperately want them to have. In order to help as many disadvantaged children as possible, we must secure donor commitment to this annual program.

Many of the children who receive assistance through our Holiday Adoption program are children of Women’s Center participants or children who attend Wesley’s early childhood programs (Wesley’s Early Childhood Center and the Lady Bamford Center). We work with these families year-round. We know their stories and we know their struggles. In 2014, Wesley’s Holiday Adoption program gave over $1,315 in store gift cards to parents/caregivers so they could shop for gifts for their children. More than $1,500 worth of gifts and toys were also provided to families in need. This year, we need more help than ever.

Join us now - commit to adopting a family or families in need.

Consider getting your church, place of business, community organization, friends or neighbors involved. To sign up or for more information, please call me at (912) 236-4226. Together we can make a difference to children in need during the most special time of year.

Participants are able to sample food and get a bag of groceries so they can re-create the menu item at home for their families! "Food for Thought" is located at our main Wesley site at 1601 Drayton Street Savannah, GA.

Please bring with you the following items for service:

  • Picture ID
  • Social Security cards for ALL household members
