Making a Difference
As poverty continues to plague our neighborhood, the need for our services continues to grow. Currently the need for services offered by the Wesley Community Centers surpasses our maximum capacity. As luck would have it, the property next to our facility has come into market. Now is the time that your contribution can make a big difference in your neighborhood. Your support directly impacts our ability to continue our mission of serving women, children, and families in dire need right here in Savannah.
Wesley's Early Childhood Center serves 52 children, our maximum capacity due to square footage restraints. As of today, there are 127 children on our waiting list.
Wesley's Multi-Cultural Youth Arts Summer Camp serves 26 children. Hundreds of families have requested this program be expanded to include year-round before and after care.
Wesley's Day Shelter provides women and families in need with bathroom and shower facilities, lunch, and motivational programs. During the summer months these programs have to be significantly modified because our clients can not be near our children who also use the Women’s Center. We are running two important programs in one space.
We are busting at the seams but thankfully opportunity is right next door. The property at 15 East 32nd Street is for sale and sits immediately next to our lot.
Securing this property will:
There are 146 documented child sexual predators in this immediate vicinity. Purchasing this property will help us better protect our children.
We hope and pray we can avoid taking out loans so all agency money can continue to directly assist those in need.
This request is of urgent importance as we must secure this property before someone else does. If you have any questions please call Sarah Norris, Resource Development Director, at any time.
